Trust No One is the first book in a 3 part series of Devlin and Falco. Detective Kerri Devlin and her new partner Detective Luke Falco are assigned a very high profile case when one of Birmingham’s richest residents is murdered along with his mother-in-law and his pregnant wife has gone missing. Not to help matters any, Devlin’s daughter wants to go spend the summer in New York with her father and his girlfriend. Not exactly what Devlin had planned.
As Devlin and Falco get further and further into the reason for the murders and the disappearance of the wife, they end up crossing paths with some of Birmingham’s most esteemed citizens. Oh the web these movers and shakers weave and it becomes obvious, that they do not appreciate having their pasts or their present investigated. Unfortunately for Devlin, the reach of the investigation touches her own family.
This story is filled with political intrigue, dark family secrets, and complex characters. Debra Webb expertly draws you into this story with it’s many layers and twists and turns. There are times you may find your head spinning with all the detail but that’s exactly what will keep your turning the pages.
I am so looking forward to getting started on Book 2 of this series, Gone Too Far. This book is definitely worth the read and I highly recommend it.
